The Italian food company "Barilla" will invest more than 130 million euros in SEZ Stupino Quadrat

The Italian food company "Barilla" will invest more than 130 million euros in the Moscow region's special economic zone "Stupino Quadrat". Barilla will build the first mill in Eastern Europe for the production of flour from durum wheat, as well as the second plant for the production of pasta. The first is located in Solnechnogorsk and supplies Russians and residents of the former Soviet Union with high-quality products for more than 10 years. "It took us a lot of time to choose the location for our large - scale project - commented Mikhail Putilin, the Vice President for Russia and the CIS of Barilla Rus LLC and the CEO of the new production company Barilla Rus Production LLC - and stopped at the SEZ Stupino Quadrat. The most important factors for us were convenient logistics, availability of a railway line at the site, equipment with all necessary communications, as well as the availability of highly qualified staff in the Stupinsky district. Moreover, the government of the Moscow region, the administration of the Stupino city district, and the managing company of the SEZ Stupino Quadrat have shown high loyalty and competence during almost two years of preparation for the transaction, which will allow the project to be successfully implemented in the shortest possible time.»

"At the initial stage of our negotiations with Barilla in Italy, we were assisted by the founders of our office in Milan, Aldo Livolsi and Alberto Conforti. A deep understanding of the mentality of partners and the priorities of the parties is an essential condition for attracting foreign investors. Despite the fact that the negotiations were lengthy, the atmosphere was always highly constructive, " said Ekaterina Evdokimova, Managing partner of SEZ Stupino Quadrat
